Coni is a true doggy grandpa, the one who has his little routines, knows exactly what he wants, and no longer lets the hustle and bustle around him disturb his peace.

In the past, whenever someone came to visit, Coni would jump on top of his little house to greet them, so high that, even at his age back then, you had to wonder where this old gentleman found all that energy. Today, his legs can’t quite do what they used to and you can tell he’s getting older. But his happiness when he sees people hasn’t changed at all. It feels like Coni doesn’t need big adventures anymore. These days, his happiness lies in the little things. For example, when his door opens, one of his favourite activities begins: “Grandpa’s daily inspection round”, a walk around the property, making sure everything is still where it belongs and then all is right with Coni’s world again. And of course, this old gentleman also likes to join us for lunch. He happily comes over and you can enjoy some company. And just like a proper grandpa, Coni appreciates a little bit of attention too. He absolutely loves being brushed. In those moments, the world can stand still for a while as he enjoys every bit of affection and attention.

Coni doesn’t ask for much. He is easy-going, calm and wonderfully independent. What we wish for this old gentleman is a place where he can finally experience what it means to truly belong. His own cosy bed. People whose voices become familiar. Gentle hands brushing his old fur. And a family where he can spend his final chapter not as a shelter dog, but as someone who has finally come home.
